Egyptian Premier League giants Al Ahly have revealed that they will bring in a foreign replacement for Hossam El-Badry.

The Egyptian coach resigned following a surprise 2-0 CAF Champions League Group A defeat at Uganda’s Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) on Tuesday.

El-Badry, who guided Al Ahly to the 2017/18 Egyptian Premier League title, decided to quit after the team extended their winless run to four matches in all competitions when they lost to KCCA.

“Ahly’s football committee … announced following a meeting on Wednesday that the team’s coming coach will be foreigner,” Al Ahly said in a brief statement on their official website.

The Red Devils are currently placed fourth on the Group A standings with one point from two matches. They will host Botswana’s Township Rollers in their next Group A game in July, 2018.

Al Ahly, who are the most decorated club in Champions League history with record eight titles, will take on Al Masry in a domestic league game on Sunday.
