Morocco coach Herve Renard is set to expand his player base when he names a 34-man squad for the team’s friendly internationals later this month.

The Atlas Lions are set to face Serbia in Turin and Uzbekistan in Casablanca on March 23 and 27 respectively.

Moroccan daily Al Akhbar reports that Renard will bring new faces into the national squad, including Yassine Ayoub and Zakaria Labyad, who play for Dutch club Utrecht.

Renard is also set to call up Egyptian-based striker Walid Azaro, who has performed strongly for Cairo giants Al Ahly as well as Reims defender Younes Abdelhamid.

Several members of Morocco’s victorious African Nations Championship team will also be rewarded for their efforts with call-ups to the senior team, including Ayoub El Kaabi, Badr Benoun, Zakaria Hadraf and Salaheddine Essaidi.

Morocco are using the friendlies as preparation for their 2018 World Cup campaign, which will see them face Iran, Portugal and Spain in Group B.
