Following their 4-0 win over Gabon’s CF Mounana, Al Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry has praised his men for the massive win.

The Red Devils mentor has expressed satisfaction over Tuesday’s comfortable win at home as the 2017 finalists kicked off their African Champions League campaign.

Following the win, Ahly have all but ruled out the possibility of an upset ahead of the second leg clash in Libreville on March 17.

“It is a very important victory; we avoided conceding goals,” the 56-year-old tactician told the club’s official website.

“The game is an important step towards the title.”

On the other hand, football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz added that he was pleased to see goals as they put the side in the driving seat.

“I really wanted more goals,” said Abdel-Hafiz.

“But four goals are satisfying. We will play the upcoming game with the same determination to score more.

“The technical staff has turned the game page already as we have domestic games we are focusing on.”

Ahly will meet ENPPI side in the Egyptian Premier League on Sunday and are on the verge of winning their third successive league title.

They lead the way with 72 points, 19 ahead of their closest chasers Ismaily and will hope to clinch their 40th title.
