Mid-August return a possibility for waylaid Dortmund ace Reus
The 27-year-old was forced to withdraw from Germany’s UEFA Euro 2016 squad due to a niggling adductor injury, and it had been suggested in the German press that he may not play again this year, but BVB have moved quickly to quash the rumours in a statement on the club’s official website.
“[Marco Reus] has not suffered damage to a tendon or his pubic bone, leading to him to miss the rest of 2016, as was mooted today. Injuries of this kind were not diagnosed by club or national team doctors […] He has an adductor injury and minor inflammation of the pubis bone, which was already known, and is currently on vacation […] All being well, he’ll be back by mid-August.”
Reus scored 12 goals in 26 Bundesliga appearances in 2015/16 as BVB finished runners-up to FC Bayern München in both the Bundesliga and DFB Cup.
